6 September, 2001 -- Dayan Dawood, Syiah Kuala University rector in Banda Aceh Shot through the head and chest by 2 unidentified gunmen on motorcycles.

1 September, 2001 -- Zaini Sulaiman, provincial parliament member Shot dead when an unidentified armed group visited his home

10 May 2001 -- Teuku Djohan, Former governor of Aceh Shot dead by unidentified gunmen

30 February, 2001 -- Sufrin Sulaiman and Muhammad Kamal, Lawyer and member of the security monitoring team Shot dead by unidentified gunmen while traveling the region to observe the cease-fire

16 September, 2000 -- Safwan Idris, rector of the Islamic Institute in Banda Aceh Shot dead at his home by two unidentified gunmen

12 September, 2000 -- Ilyas Ibrahim, provincial legislator Shot dead by unidentified group who came to his home

August, 2000 -- Jaffar Siddiq Hamzah, New York-based human rights observer Kidnapped, tortured and shot dead on the outskirts of Medan

June, 2000 -- Harun Aldy, provincial legislator Kidnapped, tortured and found dead on the outskirts of Banda Aceh

January, 2000 -- Nashiruddin Daud, provincial legislator Kidnapped and found dead
