Spain-based web porn ring smashed
MADRID, Spain -- Spanish police and Interpol say they have broken up an Internet child pornography ring. "The network was active in 21 countries on four continents, but the investigation has been coordinated from Spain," police force Director General Juan Cotino told Spanish national radio. "This is an international network with 54 distributors in every continent except Africa." Eight people had been arrested in Spain, said Cotino. In March, U.S. and Russian authorities broke up an Internet child pornography ring based in Moscow after a 10-month investigation. And one of the world's largest Internet child pornography networks was cracked by British police in a joint operation which saw 107 arrests in 12 countries. Police discovered a total of 750,000 images of children during the course of that investigation, into the network known as the Wonderland Club RELATED STORIES:
