Diana crash photographer inquiryPARIS, France -- A French photographer who took pictures of the wreckage of the car in which Diana, Princes of Wales, died, is under judicial investigation. Last October, a French appeals court rejected a request by billionaire businessman Mohamed Al Fayed to bring criminal charges against news photographers over the death of Britain's Princess Diana and his son Dodi. But Jacques Langevin, who took pictures at the scene of the crash in which Diana, her boyfriend Dodi and driver Henri Paul were killed on August 31, 1997, has been placed under judicial investigation for invasion of privacy. Judicial investigation, under French law, does not necessarily result in the pressing of charges. The photographs in question -- including shots of the mangled wreckage of the Mercedes in which Diana was riding -- were impounded by police. They have never been published. |
