Three killed in Greece shooting

KAPADOKIKO, Greece (CNN) -- Three men are dead and four others were injured -- including a four-year-old boy -- after a local man went on a shooting rampage in central Greece, local police said.

The boy was treated and released for a minor knee injury. Only one of the others injured remained in a hospital on Tuesday.

The motive is unclear, and the shooting in the town of Kapadokiko, about 67 kilometres (42 miles) north of Athens, is under investigation.

"We were sitting around talking and all of a sudden this vehicle comes in and starts shooting at us," one of the injured men told a local Greek television station.

Video of the scene showed blood stains in the town square and chairs pierced with bullet holes.

Heracles Misaelides, 36, turned himself into police after he open fired with a hunting rifle from his vehicle on a busy outdoor cafe bordering the central square of this hamlet. Witnesses who said they know Misaelides told local reporters that he was from the town and suffered in the past from drug problems.

Tuesday is a holiday in Greece, so more people than normal were out in this small Greek town.
