Joan Collins to wed 36-year-old

Collins: London stage role saw her in a saucy black basque

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Actress Joan Collins is to marry her boyfriend, who is 32 years her junior, in London early next year. It will be her fifth marriage.

The 68-year-old actress will wed Peruvian-born Percy Gibson, 36, a theatre company manager, Collins' spokeswoman Stella Wilson told The Associated Press.

"They are to marry in London in February but they have not yet finalised a venue or an exact date. They are both very happy and are very in love with each other," Wilson said.

The couple met when Collins appeared in a touring production of the play "Love Letters" in the United States. Gibson helped edit Collins' new novel, "Star Quality."

Collins said earlier this year that: "Percy is such a special human being. I think this person is more in tune with me than anybody I've ever met. I feel more myself with Percy Gibson than I ever have with anyone."

The glamorous ex-"Dynasty" star recently produced headlines when she wore a saucy black basque for her role in the farce "Over the Moon" in London's West End.

She was one of a number of woman celebrities of a certain age to strip down for the London stage in recent months.

Linda Gray, 60, who was Sue Ellen in the TV series "Dallas", has been playing to packed houses at "The Graduate" stage production in London's West End since October 1, appearing naked in one of the scenes. She took over the role from Jerry Hall, 45.

Collins, 68, alias Alexis Carrington in rival TV show "Dynasty", turned down the Graduate role because she was unwilling to go nude.

Collins, once quoted as saying: "I was fed up with prevailing attitudes that women over 40 were unattractive non-persons on the slagheap of life", was helping to dismantle stereotypes, according to her spokeswoman Stella Wilson.

"Although we are living in a very youth-obsessed industry, women like Joan are definitely helping to break the barriers for other women in the industry."
