| Fighter crashes into hangar doorLONDON, England (Reuters) -- A U.S. Air Force jet smashed through a hangar door, causing up to $8 million (£5.4 million) of damage, because it had not been strapped down properly. The F-15E Strike Eagle Jet was badly damaged while undergoing routine engine maintenance at its British base in Lakenheath, eastern England. "The crew said the hold back harness slipped off and it shot forwards," said USAF spokesman Chris Wat and he added "the highest estimate of damage is around $8 million". A member of the ground crew who was sitting in the cockpit strained his shoulder when the fighter hit the hangar door. The front cone, engines and wings of the jet were damaged in the accident.
