No action on Oasis grope complaint
LONDON, England -- No action is to be taken against Oasis star Liam Gallagher after an airport worker complained that he groped her. The singer was quizzed by Gatwick Police in southern England on Tuesday about the alleged incident, reported to have taken place four weeks ago as he was boarding a plane to Rio de Janeiro. A female member of British Airways ground staff at Gatwick Airport complained he grabbed her bottom as she checked him and the band in for the flight. Gallagher was also accompanied on the trip by pregnant girlfriend Nicole Appleton, a singer in the All Saints. "Following consultation between the police and the Crown Prosecution Service no further action is to be take against that person," said a police statement. In 1998 Gallagher was banned for life from travelling on airline Cathay Pacific following abusive behaviour on a flight from Hong Kong to Australia. Passengers complained that the singer and his entourage were drunk, smoked and threw things around the cabin. At one point the captain was forced to intervene. Gallagher was named hero of the year at the NME Carling Awards on Tuesday evening. RELATED STORIES:
