Several hurt in UK train crashLONDON, England -- Several people have been injured after a freight train and a high-speed passenger service were involved in an accident. British Transport Police said the crash happened around 0620 GMT at Great Heck near Selby, North Yorkshire, northern England, on the East Coast main line. Emergency services are investigating reports that a lorry was also involved in the accident after sliding off a road bridge in the snow. North Yorkshire fire service described the accident as a "major incident". A spokesman added: "Casualties have been reported." A spokesman for North Yorkshire police said emergency services were heading for the scene. The spokesman said: "The possibility is that the train was derailed after hitting a vehicle on the track. That report has only just come in. We have got tri-service response to that - police, fire and ambulance." A transport police spokesman said a vehicle had veered off a road on to the track. Britain's rail network is only just returning to normal after speed restrictions were imposed following a crash at Hatfield, just north of London, in which four people were killed and 30 injured. Reuters contributed to this report. RELATED STORIES:
