Fighting affects Danish queen's itineraryCOPENHAGEN, Denmark -- Danish Queen Margrethe II was forced to change her itinerary on the last day of her official visit to Thailand due to fighting near the border with Myanmar. The Danish news agency Ritzau reported on Monday that Myanmar soldiers had shot dead two civilians and wounded another 37 on Sunday when they clashed with a group of ethnic Shan rebels seeking independence. The queen, Prince Henrik and Crown Prince Frederik had originally planned to visit the Mekong river and hold a press conference. However, the authorities could not guarantee the safety of the guests and moved the location for the press conference to a safe area further down the river. RELATED SITES:
