Car bomb explodes in Jerusalem; at least 2 hurt

JERUSALEM (CNN) -- A car bomb exploded in a Jerusalem neighborhood on Thursday, injuring at least two people.

"There was an explosion...police and ambulance crews have been sent to the scene," police spokesman for Jerusalem Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.

Police said the explosion occurred in Mea Shearim, an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood in west Jerusalem.

A fire official said flames from the blast were extinguished and the area suffered minimal damage.
