GAZA CITY (CNN) -- Israeli helicopters fired on four houses in the Palestinian-controlled Gaza village of Beit Lahaya Sunday night, Palestinian sources told CNN.

One Palestinian source said 11 Palestinian civilians were wounded, but a Palestinian medical source could only confirm one injury.

Israel Defense Forces were not immediately available for comment.

The reported attack -- on the Jewish holiday of Passover and the Christian holy day of Palm Sunday -- followed scattered Israeli-Palestinian fighting in the West Bank town of Ramallah, Reuters reported.

Palestinian witnesses and security sources told Reuters that Israeli tanks fired three shells in the Ramallah firefight, and another Israeli tank fired a shell in the nearby village of Beitunia after light weapons failed to discourage Palestinians who were firing from the town on an Israeli army position.

Reuters contributed to this report.
