Are MBAs DOA?

(CNN) -- Most students seeking their master's degree in business administration started opening their textbooks and attending classes at the height of the economic boom. Business was great, and prospective employers would do almost anything to lure prospective employees.
Fast forward two years and those same employers are reeling from an economic slowdown. The sluggish market is forcing companies to defer or rescind job offers as a result.
So what's an MBA grad with few job prospects and mounting debt to do?
At least one school is giving these newly minted business professionals some help.

The Dean of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Illinois sent an e-mail plea to alumni, asking them to consider hiring these students "on a temporary consulting basis."
Is the call for help answered with job offers?
