Jesse Jackson hospitalized for muscle pain

CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson was admitted to a Chicago hospital Saturday for muscle pain believed to be a result of an automobile accident he was involved in three weeks ago, University of Chicago Hospital spokesman John Easton said.

The civil rights leader walked into the hospital late Saturday afternoon complaining of muscle pain and underwent several tests to determine the extent of his injuries, Easton said. He was admitted to the hospital and will have more tests Sunday.

The spokesman was not clear where Jackson's muscle pains were. Jackson mentioned he was rear-ended by another vehicle three weeks ago, Easton said.

Jackson is the founder and leader of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, a Chicago-based organization dedicated to social and racial issues.
