Airlines: Air France
(CNN) -- Air France is ranked as Europe's third biggest airline behind Germany's Lufthansa and British Airways. With a fleet of 373 aircraft, it flies to more than 200 destinations in 85 countries. The airline is still 56 percent owned by the French government, but that hasn't stopped it from exploiting the ever-expanding Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport to increase services to Africa, the Caribbean and South Asia. Air France has also benefited from its involvement in the SkyTeam alliance with Korean Air Lines and the U.S.'s Delta Air Lines. The alliance competes with BA's oneworld and Lufthansa's Star Alliance. Along with British Airways it is the only operator of the supersonic jet Concorde. It also competes against Lufthansa and FedEx in the world cargo market. Web site: www.airfrance.net Chairman and Chief Executive: Jean-Cyril Spinetta |
