Feeling Fit: Winter workouts(CNN) -- If you're planning a run down the slopes, or even just a jog in chilly temperatures, there are things you can do to help make your winter workout safer and more effective.
Dressing properly for the temperature -- hats to keep you from losing too much body heat and gloves to prevent frostbite -- is important. Also key: checking with your doctor for any special instructions if you have a medical condition like asthma. Because cold weather exercise is more strenuous, you should be sure to warm up thoroughly and keep hydrated. CNN's Liz Weiss explains how following simple steps like these can help you get the most out of your winter exercise routine. |
