Seniors in motion
(CNN) -- Physical inactivity and poor eating habits account for the increasingly large number of health problems and deaths across the United States each year. Several of the nation's most prominent health and aging organizations are working to implement programs to help address what has long been considered a serious problem, especially among older adults. Researchers advise Americans to add regular physical exercise to their daily regimen to reduce the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure and even injuries among the elderly.
They say regular physical activity can help relieve the pain of arthritis and lead to fewer visits to the doctor or hospitalization. Christy Feig reports on how water-based exercise is a great way to get seniors up and moving. |
