Building killer abs
(CNN) -- It seems there on the mind of almost every health conscious person: washboard abdominal muscles. Now, the American Council on Exercise is lending a hand to help educate Americans on the most, and least effective exercises to really target your abdominals. In a sponsored study conducted with San Diego State University, experts looked at more than 10 abdominal exercises and found the bicycle maneuver to be the most effective to challenge your abs. For those taken by the "Ab Rocker," it didn't do so well, coming in at the end of the list.
While it is important to safely do some type of abdominal exercise for a firmer mid-section, experts say, the key to so-called washboard abs also requires a well-balanced diet and regular aerobic conditioning. Juliette Duffus has more on ways to develop those killer abs. |
