(CNN) -- The great outdoors provides unique opportunities for people to test and challenge themselves.

But for many with disabilities, it can be a test and a challenge just to get out into nature.

Now, in Colorado, there's a solution that enables those with wheelchairs to go freewheeling.

The Wilderness on Wheels program creates new access to the outdoors for the disabled.

This non-profit organization has already inspired programs in other parts of the country and is breaking down barriers for the disabled in a mostly able-bodied world.
