The benefits of red fruit
(CNN) -- We've heard the message again and again. Eat at least five servings of fruit and vegetables a day for optimum good health. Now research shows red fruit alone offers a number of healthy rewards. Varieties of red fruit provide antioxidants, ward off inflammation, prevent urinary tract infections and reduce the risk of certain cancers. Watermelon is high in fiber, vitamins A and C, and is a good source of potassium. Research shows it's a healthy addition to your diet and that all of the watermelon, including the seeds and rind, is edible. Registered dietitian Liz Weiss reports on the benefits of eating red fruit.
