O.J. lawyer wants $6,200 for road-rage trial costs
MIAMI (CNN) -- A lawyer who represented O.J. Simpson during his Florida road rage trial is asking Miami-Dade County to pay $6,200 to cover some of the expenses for the case. Attorney Yale Galanter said that amount would cover the cost of investigators and depositions from the trial. A Florida state law allows defendants who are acquitted to recoup expenses. Galanter said his law firm routinely asks the state to pay expenses for cases and the motion to recoup the legal costs is not unique to the Simpson case. "This is standard operating procedure for any law firm," he said. Last October, the ex-football star was acquitted of attacking a man over a traffic dispute. |
