(InStyle) -- The event: A one-night-only performance of "The World of Nick Adams," based on Ernest Hemingway's Nick Adams character, to benefit the Painted Turtle Camp, the newest of Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang camps for children, at L.A.'s Kodak Theatre, November 4.

THE PERFORMERS

Newman, Joanne Woodward, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Goldie Hawn, Kevin Kline, Gary Sinise, Annette Bening, Chris O'Donnell, Brian Dennehy, Danny Glover, Danny DeVito, Mena Suvari and Edward James Olmos.

THE STATS

This all-star cast performed to a sell-out crowd, raking in more than $2 million dollars to support the latest project for Newman's 16-year-old organization, which provides a camp experience for children afflicted with chronic and terminal illnesses.

The Painted Turtle Camp will open in Lake Elizabeth, California next year.

Warren Beatty, who was scheduled to perform, had earlier dropped out to campaign for his friend Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone.

After Wellstone's untimely death in October, the trip was cancelled, leaving Beatty to make a surprise appearance.
