Robert Duvall breaks ribs
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Actor Robert Duvall is recovering after breaking six ribs rehearsing for a film, according to one of his publicists. The Oscar-winning actor was in training for a film he is working on with director Kevin Costner, spokeswoman Kristen Borella told CNN. The film, "Open Range," is scheduled to shoot on location in Calgary, Alberta. Duvall was not at the location. "He's doing well," the spokeswoman added. Duvall's new movie, "A Shot at Glory," is due out May 3. Duvall, 71, most recently starred in "John Q." opposite this year's best actor Oscar winner, Denzel Washington. He has two other films due in 2002: "Gods and Generals," based on the novel by Jeff Shaara; and "Assassination Tango," which he both wrote and directed. The hard-working actor won an Oscar for 1983's "Tender Mercies." He's been nominated five other times. Duvall is also known for his roles in the first two "Godfather" movies, "The Conversation," "Network," "The Seven-Per-Cent Solution," "Apocalypse Now," and "A Civil Action." |
