(InStyle) -- The events: Just in time for your holiday viewing pleasure, four of the biggest films of the year premiered this week, to rave reviews and what promises to be grandiose box-office returns.

"The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" partied around the world, with its biggest bash in Hollywood on December 15. Sunday also saw the stars come out for the highly anticipated opening of "The Hours" in New York. And both coasts were jumping on December 16, with the premieres of Spike Lee's "25th Hour" in New York and Steven Spielberg's "Catch Me If You Can" in L.A.

"Lord"'s cast members Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortenson, Orlando Bloom and Cate Blanchett, plus Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon and Bijou Phillips; "The Hours"' Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Meryl Streep, Claire Danes and John C. Reilly, plus Parker Posey, Sophie Dahl and Stanley Tucci; "25th Hour"'s director Spike Lee and cast members Rosario Dawson, Edward Norton, Barry Pepper, Anna Paquin and Philip Seymour Hoffman, plus Salma Hayek, John Leguizamo and David Blaine; and "Catch"'s crew Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Leo DiCaprio and Jennifer Garner, plus Christopher Walken, Christina Applegate and Laura Dern.
