Billy Joel moving out of hospital
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Singer Billy Joel is "doing very well" and will check out of a Connecticut hospital known for treating substance abuse sometime Wednesday, according to a spokeswoman for the artist. Claire Mercuri, Joel's spokeswoman at Columbia Records, told CNN Wednesday about Joel's departure plans from Silver Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut, but she would not comment on the reason for his stay. In an earlier statement, Columbia Records would only say that Joel was dealing "with a specific and personal problem that has recently developed."
The 53-year-old piano-playing singer is known for a string of hits, including "Piano Man," "Just the Way You Are," and "Uptown Girl." He is divorced from model Christie Brinkley. |
