Oasis members hurt in car crash
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana -- Three members of Oasis have been injured in a car crash in Indianapolis, Indiana, forcing the British band to cancel a concert in the city. Singer Noel Gallagher, bass guitarist Andy Bell and keyboard player Jay Darlington were taken to hospital on Tuesday afternoon and treated for shock, cuts and bruises after their taxi collided head-on with another vehicle, said the band's Web site on Wednesday. Gallagher, riding in the front seat, suffered heavy facial bruising and seat-belt cuts. Darlington has had his hand strapped and was due to have further hospital treatment. Wednesday's Indianapolis gig was cancelled as doctors told the band to rest for two days. Promoters hope to reschedule the concert. It is not known if other dates on the U.S. tour will be affected. It is the latest setback for the tour which began in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday, only for singer Liam Gallagher to walk off after four songs because his voice packed up, leaving brother Noel to front the band. |
