Kim Delaney arrested on suspicion of drunk driving

'Philly' star was driving home in Malibu

LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Actress Kim Delaney, who once played a police detective on television, is on the other side of the law after she was arrested Saturday night for drunken driving.

Police arrested Delaney at her home in Malibu, California, after a witness called them to report an erratic driver, said Sgt. Peter Charbonneau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Using a cell phone, the witness called police, while following Delaney home.

Delaney was arrested without incident and released from jail Sunday morning. Reuters reports that she has a March 27 court date.

The actress, formerly on ABC's "NYPD Blue," stars as a lawyer in the network's television show "Philly."
