Sharon Osbourne to undergo cancer surgery
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Sharon Osbourne, who stars with her family in the MTV reality series "The Osbournes," will undergo surgery Wednesday for a treatable form of cancer, her publicist announced late Tuesday. Family spokesman Lisa Vega would not identify what type of cancer Osbourne has or where the surgery would take place, other than to say she "is expected to make a full recovery." "I spoke with Sharon today, and she seemed to be in good spirits. The doctors are very, very positive about the outcome," Vega said. "The Osbournes" follows the lives of British rocker Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne, their children, Kelly and Jack, and their Australian nanny Melinda. It developed a cult following on MTV and become one of the most popular shows on the music-oriented cable network. Another daughter, Aimee, opted out of the show. As a result of Sharon Osbourne's illness, the first two dates of Ozzy Osbourne's summer music tour, Ozzfest 2002, in Bristow, Virginia, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, have been postponed. |
