Apple's new laptops start at $999
CUPERTINO, California (Reuters) - Apple Computer Inc. on Wednesday said it would introduce new laptop upgrades of its Titanium PowerBook G4 notebook, which can burn and play both CDs and DVDs and an upgraded iBook line that starts at $999.
The new Titanium, starts at $2,299 and features a 1 GHz PowerPC G4 processor, wireless networking, a 15.2-inch screen. It weighs 5.4 pounds and is one inch thick.
The 867 MHz Titanium PowerBook G4 is available now, and the 1 GHz model is expected to be available in mid-November.
The G4 notebook running at up to 1 GHz and the 1 GHz model is expected to be available in mid-November.
Additionally, the notebook feature Apple's SuperDrive for burning CDs for music and other data and DVDs for movies.
The company also announced the upgrade of its notebooks with a G3 processor which can run up to 800 MHz to boost three dimensional games performance.
