(IDG) -- Legal pundits and curious spectators who just can't get enough of Enron Corp.'s gripping demise can now visit a new Web site dedicated to the energy giant's trail of bankruptcy tears, packed with over 2,000 documents from the company's Chapter 11 case that can be viewed and downloaded for free.

The Newark, New Jersey-based legal Web site operator E-law LLC said Monday that it created the site in order to provide a manageable way for interested parties to find information on the bankruptcy filings of Enron, its subsidiaries and some of its partnerships. Since the site was launched on March 8, it has received 18,500 visits, providing over 50,000 free document views and downloads, E-law said.

The Houston-based energy trading firm has been grabbing headlines for months since it was revealed that the company has engaged in dodgy accounting practices to hide its financial troubles. The company's downfall has directly affected thousands of Enron employees and stock holders, as well as serving to cast a shadow of doubt over many large companies' accounting practices.

E-law hopes that the site, located at http://www.elaw4enron.com, will become an informational hub for the approximately 500 law firms involved in the case, as well as provide up-to-date information to current and former Enron employees and the public at large.

E-law Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jerry Krivitzky said in a statement that he expects the case to generate over 20,000 documents, enough to fill 10 sets of encyclopedias.
