INS arrests Washington-area airport employeesNo immediate links cited to terrorismWASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) has arrested dozens of airport employees on alleged immigration violations, in a sweep at the two main airports serving the nation's capital, authorities say. The arrests began around 9 a.m. EDT at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport. Authorities emphasize there are no immediate links cited between the arrests and terrorist organizations and say the arrests are a result of immigration violations, such as overstaying a visa's time limit. There may be more arrests to come, officials say. |
