WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Investigators using cadaver dogs searched Washington's Rock Creek Park on Saturday for clues in the death of Chandra Levy.

Police have amassed enough information to put together a computerized map of the crime scene, detailing where Levy's clothes and bones were found in hopes that they can determine where she died.

"They went through the whole scene with a laser unit that precisely measures out the distance between the evidence and also landmarks, things like that," said Sgt. Scott Fear of the U.S. Park Service.

The information was handed over to investigators Friday night, he said.

The Associated Press reported that police found a knotted piece of clothing with Levy's remains that could have been used to restrain her.

Investigators are trying to determine if Levy's stretch leggings were used to tie her up, a person close to the investigation told the AP on Saturday.

For the first time since Levy's remains were discovered Wednesday, officials reopened a road in the park to traffic and said they were planning to scale back the size of a perimeter set up around the crime scene.

Her remains -- along with some clothing, including a sweatshirt and sneakers -- were discovered in a remote area of the park, thick with underbrush. Police said a Walkman was also found in the area, at the base of a steep cliff.

No one has been named as a suspect in Levy's death.

Investigators are exploring whether the case can be linked to two assaults in the park last summer. Salvadoran Ingmar Guandique, 20, is serving a 10-year prison sentence for the assaults, one of which occurred two weeks after Levy was last reported seen April 30, 2001, in Washington.

Court papers filed when he was sentenced say a knife-wielding Guandique "appears to have used Rock Creek Park as a hunting ground, waiting beside popular running trails, selecting victims and stalking them."

Ingmar Guandique, in an undated mug shot, was convicted of two assaults in Rock Creek Park in the weeks after Levy disappeared.

Police said they want to talk to Guandique about the Levy case.

The search for the 24-year-old former intern and massive publicity that accompanied it was largely a result of her connection to U.S. Rep. Gary Condit, D-California.

Her family and police sources say the two had an affair, but the lawmaker has publicly acknowledged only a friendship and refused to describe it further. Police sources said Condit, during one interview with investigators, confirmed a romantic relationship with Levy.

The fallout from Condit's connection to Levy damaged his political career: He was defeated in the Democratic primary in March.

A memorial service is planned Tuesday in Levy's hometown of Modesto, California, where her parents remained in seclusion Saturday.
