S&P feed problem causes inaccurate stock quotes
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Some Web sites posted inaccurate stock quotes Friday because of a feed problem. Ratings agency Standard & Poor's is working to fix the problem, which an S&P spokeswoman said originated with the New York Stock Exchange. S&P provides the stock quote feed to a number of businesses, including news agencies and CNN/Money's Web site. Other stock-feed vendors also encountered the problem. The figures in question were varying drastically from their Friday morning opening numbers. Among the companies affected are AOL, Home Depot, General Electric, and Disney.
