BEVERLY HILLS, California (CNN) -- Police in Los Angeles and Las Vegas served search warrants today at offices of Tha Row Records, the rap record label formerly called Death Row Records.

They say warrants are related to several murders but won't say if they include those of Tupac Shakur and more recently, Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC. CNN's Charles Feldman spoke to CNN Anchor Wolf Blitzer Thursday.

BLITZER: This is a big story, Charles. Tell our viewers why.

FELDMAN: Oh, a very big story, Wolf. The rap world is just buzzing with rumors today following an early morning raid at Marion "Suge" Knight's record company in Beverly Hills. The raid that led to the arrests of three people charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

And Wolf, in a bizarre turn of events to say the least, one of the three men arrested is a former Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy. Now, Knight, himself, say law enforcement officials, is not wanted at this time.

FELDMAN: Knight, believed to be here in L.A. right now, was released from prison only this summer. He served five years for violating probation --Wolf.

BLITZER: Charles, correct me if I'm wrong, but there seems to be a lot more secrecy in this particular investigation than maybe normal in these kinds of investigations. What's going on?

FELDMAN: Well, I think here you're being very perceptive about that, Wolf. Yes, there is a lot of secrecy partly, I think, it's because it's an ongoing investigation. Partly, I think it's also, as I mentioned before, one of those charged now with conspiracy to commit murder is a former L.A. County sheriff's deputy. So any time a murder investigation leads to one of their own, law enforcement tends to close ranks and keep their lips very tightly closed until they know exactly what they're dealing with.
