No survivors in Cuba plane crashCNN Havana Bureau Chief HAVANA, Cuba (CNN) -- Officials have found no survivors in the central Cuba crash of a small passenger plane, government officials said. The plane went down Thursday. It was carrying 16 people. The Cuban Civil Aviation Institute said it has dispatched a special commission to the area to investigate the crash. The Soviet-made Antonov AN-2 operated by Aerotaxi was on a tourist charter flight from Cienfeugos to Cayo Coco when it went down near Santa Clara at 4:30 p.m. EST, the aviation institute said. Santa Clara is about 165 miles east of Havana. The Foreign Ministry's press center said the passengers included two Germans; six Canadians, two of them children; four British citizens; and four Cubans. Aerotaxi regularly transports tourists to beach resorts. |
