Kylie makes $3 million in 30 minutes
SYDNEY, Australia (CNN) -- Australians just can't get enough of Kylie Minogue, paying out $3.3 million in half an hour for tickets to the pop princess's next Australian tour. About 78,000 tickets went on sale Tuesday for six shows in the two state capital cities of Sydney and Melbourne, with fans paying between $46 and $77 for seats, a sharp increase from the ticket price to her concerts last year of just $35. Fans reportedly queued for up to two days in a bid to secure good seats, with tickets to the first of six concerts selling out in 30 minutes. The massive sell-out show, which follows Minogue's U.K. and European tour, makes the diminutive star's concerts the fastest selling in Australia for at least seven years. The Kylie Fever show includes seven stage sets and costumes designed by Dolce & Gabbana in a two-hour spectacular. At least 92 people will travel with the singer when she arrives in Australia, with each event expected to cost $4.2 million to stage. |
