Land mine injures Norwegian soldierBAGRAM AIR BASE, Afghanistan (CNN) -- A Norwegian soldier was injured Friday during a mine-clearing operation at the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, according to U.S. military officials. The soldier, whose name was not released, was hit in the face with shrapnel when an anti-personnel mine exploded. He is listed in stable condition. Officials said the soldier was part of a mine-clearing team that was conducting sweeps at the air base when the accident occurred. |
