Sources: Pakistan arrests 5 al Qaeda suspectsCNN LAHORE, Pakistan (CNN) -- The Pakistani government arrested five men this week suspected of being members of the al Qaeda terrorist network, government and police sources said Saturday. Pakistani government officials, however, denied the report. The suspects were arrested in three different areas of Karachi, the sources said. FBI agents were involved the operations, according to the sources, gathering intelligence on the suspects and giving it to Pakistani police. One suspect was arrest in an Internet cafe, two were taken into custody at the Karachi airport, and two were arrested in a residential neighborhood. All five were being held at a Pakistani intelligence agency facility in Karachi, sources said. |
