JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) -- The bombers who attacked a McDonald's restaurant in Indonesia last week may be part of the terror network that carried out the Bali bombing attacks in October.

National Police spokesman Edward Aritonang told CNN on Thursday that one McDonald's suspects, a man known as Suryadi, admitted to acting as a courier to transport explosives for the prime suspect in the Bali bombing, Imam Samudra.

According to Aritonang, Suryadi admitted to police that a man known as Agung Hamid was responsible for the blast at the McDonald's in the South Sulawesi town of Makassar, in which two people died and two others were injured.

Police are now hunting Agung Hamid, believed to be a member of Laskar Jundullah, a local Islamic militia with connections to the Jema'ah Islamiyah, an Al-Qaeda linked regional terror network.

Police have arrested a total of six suspects in the Makassar bombings, and at least four suspects are closely linked to Laskar Jundullah, according to police.

The leader of Laskar Jundullah, Agus Dwikarna, was arrested and convicted last year in the Philippines for possession of explosives.

According to intelligence documents obtained by CNN, Dwikarna was a key operative of the Jema'ah Islamiyah network. He remains in Philippine custody.

South Sulawesi Police Chief Firman Gani recently said the McDonald's bombing was part of a "network of terrorists" responsible for previous bombings, including the Bali attack in October which killed 180 people.

Investigators have blamed the al-Qaeda linked Jema'ah Islamiyah for the Bali attacks and a string of church bombings on Christmas Eve 2000.

The McDonald's blast was one of two explosions in Makassar.

The other took place at a car showroom, but no injuries were reported there. The locations are a few miles apart.
