Model Kate Moss expecting baby
LONDON, England -- One of the world's most successful models, Kate Moss, is expecting her first baby. The father of her boyfriend, magazine executive Jefferson Hack, said on Thursday the couple had told him the day before that the 28-year-old millionaire was three months' pregnant. Her model agency Storm also confirmed the news. "It's great news and we are delighted," Douglas Hack told the Press Association. "We found out on Wednesday when we were having drinks with them at the Savoy. "They told us that Kate is pregnant. They are very happy about it and they are very happy together. "They hadn't mentioned anything about wanting a baby and they have kept everything under wraps for the past three months," he said. The model and her 30-year-old partner, a publisher of style magazine Dazed & Confused, have no immediate plans to marry, Hack said. "They have been going out for 18 months but they haven't said anything to me about marriage. Often young people don't get married at all these days, do they?" Moss was discovered by Storm boss Sarah Doukas at New York's JFK airport when she was 14. The Londoner became a top model in the early 1990s with her waif-like image. She has featured in advertisements for Calvin Klein and is currently the face of Rimmel cosmetics. She is also famed for her love of partying, which took its toll in 1998 when she checked into The Priory clinic in southwest London suffering from exhaustion. In February, Moss told the British magazine Time Out that she quit modelling in 2000 after becoming disillusioned with the fashion industry's hedonistic lifestyle. After relationships with U.S. movie star Johnny Depp and Spacehog guitarist Antony Langdon, she found happiness when she met Hack at a party. |
