Dutch arrest terror group suspects

ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands (CNN) -- Dutch police have searched five homes and arrested several suspects of a hardline Algerian group, according to the National Prosecutor's Office.

Four suspects are being held in custody, accused of providing false passports, money, housing and logistical information to members of the Algerian group, "Groupe Salafisste Pour la Prediction et la Combates."

The group has planned and executed bomb attacks inside and outside Algeria in the past, said spokesman Win de Bruin.

De Bruin said police found false passports and propaganda material during the raids on Wednesday.

The suspects all had Algerian passports and were all living in The Netherlands illegally.

Police originally arrested 10 men, but five were released after prosecutors decided they had no connection to the case. A sixth was held in custody on an unrelated matter.

The suspects will remain in custody for three days at which time a prosecutor will decide if they must appear before a judge.

Prosecutors say their investigation is ongoing.
