Timeline: Fatal air show crashes

LVIV, Ukraine (Reuters) -- The following is a list of fatal crashes at air shows in the past three decades.

June 6, 1999 -- A British Royal Air Force pilot is killed and a civilian woman killed on the ground when a British Aerospace Hawk 200 crashes during an air show at Bratislava in Slovakia.

July 26, 1997 -- Nine people die and at least 57 injured when a light aircraft mounting an aerobatics display crashed into a crowd around a Red Cross tent at an air show in the Belgian coastal town of Ostend.

August 28, 1988 -- Seventy people are killed and hundreds injured in the world's worst air show disaster when three jets from an Italian Air Force display team collide in mid-air and one crashes into the crowd during an air show at a U.S. Air Force base at Ramstein, West Germany.

June 26, 1988 -- Three people are killed and 133 on board survive when a new Airbus A320 airliner crashes on a low-level demonstration flight during an air show at Mulhouse-Habsheim on the French-Swiss border.

September 11, 1982 -- Forty-six people are killed when a U.S. Army Chinook helicopter carrying sky divers from several nations crashes at an air display at Mannheim, West Germany.

June 3, 1973 -- A prototype Russian Tupolev Tu-144 supersonic airliner -- dubbed "Concordsky" -- explodes in mid-air during a demonstration at the Paris air show, killing its six crew and nine people on the ground.
