Dubai ruler's son dies in accidentDUBAI, United Arab Emirates (CNN) -- The son of the ruler of Dubai has been killed in a "tragic accident," the United Arab Emirates official news agency WAM said on Thursday.
Sheikh Rashid, 22, was the son of Sheikh Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai. The news agency did not mention any information about the accident and officials have not commented further. Several UAE senior officials and a large number of citizens attended the funeral in Dubai on Thursday. All state-owned media in Dubai stopped regular programmes and broadcast the recital of the Koran as a sign of grief. |
