IDF says it responded to explosives, rocks

NABLUS, West Bank (CNN) -- An 8-year-old Palestinian boy, among a group of youths throwing stones at Israeli troops, was shot and killed by army fire, the Palestine Red Crescent said Monday.

Another boy is critically injured, the Red Crescent said.

The Israel Defense Forces said troops returned fire after three explosive devices, Molotov cocktails and stones were thrown at forces operating in Nablus.
