Sorin accepts punch apologyRIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (Reuters) -- Argentina's midfielder Juan Pablo Sorin says he has forgiven an opponent who punched him as he celebrated his team's victory during a Brazilian domestic match at the weekend. Sorin, who plays for Belo Horizonte-based club Cruzeiro, was struck by Atletico Mineiro defender Edgar after his team had won a penalty shootout to reach the final of the Copa Sul-Minas. "He apologised and that's the end of the matter, I accept," said Sorin, who scored Argentina's winner in their 1-0 win in Germany in last month's friendly. But he added: "There's no justification for what happened." Cruzeiro face Atletico Paranaense in the two-leg final. |
