Nigeria end Ireland's home runDUBLIN, Republic of Ireland -- Nigeria defied an Irish onslaught to win 2-1 in Dublin and end Mick McCarthy's team's two-year unbeaten home record. Substitute Stephen Reid crashed a shot past Nigeria's keeper Ike Shorunmu to bring Ireland back into the game on 69 minutes. It was a rare defeat for McCarthy, whose team play Germany, Cameroon and Saudi Arabia in World Cup Group E. "I just said to the players I hate losing," he said.
