MARTIN SAVIDGE, CNN ANCHOR: Getting back to the story that we began the program with, and that is those two Kentucky escapees. They're now back in custody, but the fate of Alice Donovan, a woman it's believed they kidnapped, is still unknown.
Joining us on the telephone is Sheriff Ronald Hewett. He's with Brunswick County, in North Carolina.
We understand that your involved in the search to try to find Alice, sir. Where do things stand?
SHERIFF RONALD HEWETT, BRUNSWICK CO. N.C.: Well, where things stand right now is we have an intense air and ground search. The communities both in North and South Carolina, law enforcement, have come together in this case, and right now, we are being aided by the United States Marine Corps, helicopters from Cherry Point, and also the North Carolina highway patrol, with special heat-seeking devices known as fleer units, and we have ground teams ready that are and on the ground ready to assist in the location, hopefully and prayerfully of Miss Donovan.
SAVIDGE: Now obviously we would expect or hope that those two suspects would give you leads. Have they been cooperative in any way?
HEWETT: At this time, due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, once again, we're working closely with the FBI, and with the Conway, South Carolina police department. At this time, due to the ongoing nature, I would not be able to comment on whether or not the two escapees are cooperating with authorities. Certainly, we feel that our hopes and prayers are of finding Miss Donovan alive, and we are desperately exhausting every measure here in North Carolina at this time to locate Miss Donovan.
SAVIDGE: It's clear then you believe there's a chance she may be secluded out of doors somewhere. What have the temperatures been at night? what have the weather conditions been like for her to survive?
HEWETT: The weather conditions have been such that certainly, we feel that there is hope and we are pushing ahead very strong at this point, and it is our mission, our goal to bring Miss Donovan home alive. That is our goal.
SAVIDGE: It's a good goal. Thank you sheriff, very much. We wish you good luck in your search effort.
HEWETT: Yes, sir. And we will keep you informed of the efforts and exactly what does happen here on the ground in North Carolina, sir.
SAVIDGE: Thank you, sir, very much. That is Sheriff Ronald Hewett, with Brunswick County in North Carolina.
